Choirs for Change is a member of the Nova Scotia Choral Federation (NSCF), a provincial arts service organization dedicated to providing programs, resources and support for the choral and collective singing community. A vital hub of activity for 50 years, the NSCF is celebrated as one of the most robust provincial choral federations in the country. Through educational and performance programs like the Nova Scotia Youth Choir, Children’s Chorus of Nova Scotia, Sing Summer Camps, and multiple workshops, the NSCF provides opportunities for growth and connection, and works to uphold high standards of artistic achievement. NSCF also provides a wide range of support services, such as a music lending library, rehearsal space, bursaries and professional development funding.
The NSCF represents thousands of diverse voices across a wide spectrum of spaces and singing styles - from school classrooms, to faith-based choirs, adult and youth community ensembles, cultural groups, professional artists and institutions. They aim to reflect the province's rich cultural tapestry and the traditions of singing that are deeply embedded within its history, amplifying shared voices in a way that builds community and fosters a sense of identity and belonging. We encourage you to find out more about their excellent work at www.nscf.ca. Through our work, at Choirs for Change, we are amplifying NSCF’s mission to promote, develop and sustain choral & collective singing as an accessible art form for all Nova Scotians.
