Jack Bennet

Jack has been involved with Choirs for Change since its inception, as conductor, chorister, and now Board member.

He is a seasoned leader in the cultural sector, and has served within the governance structures of various arts organizations including the Nova Scotia Choral Federation and the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts. Following a career change, today Jack practices law, specializing in criminal defense.

Rachel Delano

Rachael is a Halifax-based musician and educator who practices as a voice coach, background vocalist, and vocal health educator, specializing in Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) techniques.  Her teaching journey spans several performing arts schools and institutions. Rachael now owns a private voice studio, focusing on contemporary techniques for professional and hobby singers. 

Rachael lives a life dedicated to music and the art of singing and is always looking forward to new opportunities to be in community with others, learning, and sharing voices.

Christina Redmond 

Christina Redmond (she/her) has been singing alto with Choirs for Change since 2017 and been a member of the Board since 2021. She holds a Master's in Public and International Affairs from York University and currently works as a policy analyst with the Province of Nova Scotia.

Christina believes very strongly in choir as a means of community-building and is thrilled to see how Choirs for Change has grown since its founding.

Claire Bennet 

Claire has been involved with Choirs for Change from the start, as both a singer and social media and marketing lead. Having been involved in music her whole life, she firmly believes in the power of choir as a source of community, connection, and joy.

Claire studied at Dalhousie University and Toronto Metropolitan University, and currently works as an editor in Halifax.​

Jessica Sharp

Music has always been a big part of Jessica's life and is her passion; she’s been singing in choirs since childhood and has been involved in school, community and university musicals throughout her life. Jessica has been a part of Choirs for Change since 2017 both as a singer and in recent years as a board member.

​She has loved watching this organization grow and continue to be a wonderful community connected through music. Aside from singing, Jessica is building her career as an environmental scientist and currently works in contaminated sites remediation.​

Matthew Walker

Matthew is an award-winning director, creator and educator of settler lineage based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax. Throughout his career, Matthew has prioritized creating and producing theatre that challenges preconceptions of where, how, and for whom theatre is staged. He is Co-Artistic Director for Litmus Theatre, an award-winning independent theatre company based in Tkaronto/Toronto, and has also recently co-founded Escaping Light Theatre, a Nova-Scotia based site-specific theatre company that is interested in interrogating questions of access through staging multi-disciplinary projects in non-traditional theatre venues.

He is also a member of the Acting Program Faculty at Dalhousie’s Fountain School of Performing Arts and has taught, directed, and sat on panels for various educational institutions and theatre organisations throughout Canada. He is a graduate of Dalhousie’s Acting Program (BA with Hons.) and York University (MFA in Theatre Performance)

Bruce Muir

Bruce Muir, a member at large for Choirs for Change, hails from Truro, Nova Scotia and currently resides in Dartmouth.

​In his spare time, he enjoys running, weird comedy, and musical pursuits. By day (and sometimes night), he works as a lawyer in the fields of criminal law and mental health.

Anneke van den Hof​

After growing up in Halifax, and following a Psychology degree from Queen’s and a summer
milking cows in New Zealand, Anneke spent seven years working in Toronto’s advertising industry.
But in 2020 a ”week or two” back in the Maritimes turned into a full-time return to her
hometown, where she's been happy to put down roots (and get a pandemic puppy named
Tater Tot).  Her career has involved collaborating with and managing clients, internal teams,
and external partners on everything from small projects to large integrated marketing
campaigns. She has specialized expertise in social media strategy and has run national and
localized social media strategies and campaigns for brands like Home Hardware and Nova
Scotia Works.

Outside of her core account services and brand strategy work, she has taken a leadership role advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) conversations in my agencies, with my clients, and in the advertising industry more widely. This has included seeking training, developing and facilitating training seminars for colleagues and clients, and developing relevant tools and policies to encourage DEI thinking and reduce the impact of unconscious bias in work. ​
